Women`s Pennant Bowls has kept on dishing up surprise results during 2013/14 but it saved it`s best for the semi finals played yesterday when the association took advantage of a ‘cool change’ down to 39 degrees to play the matches.
At Barmera in the division one second semi final Loxton gained a grand final ticket with a massive 71-45 win over defending champion and 2013/14 minor premier Berri.
For Loxton Bernie Mattner`s rink defeated Jan Grosser 26-18 and Margaret Schutz scored a decisive 35-4 victory against Kerry Treloar.
Berri won the other match up when Marg Cooper finished 23-10 against Raelene Reichstein.

Meanwhile in division two there was also a massive upset when Barmera defeated runaway minor premier Renmark RSL two rinks to one,58-54, in the second semi final and Renmark RSL will now meet Waikerie, the winner of the first semi, in the elimination final.
In the first semi final Waikerie 55.5 accounted for Berri 50.
In third division Moorook after its plunge down the ladder to third spot a week earlier kept it`s season alive with a 58-33 win over Renmark RSL in the first semi final.
It will now play Berri in the elimination final after Renmark won the second semi final by one shot 42-41 from Berri.
The Women`s Association has now attempted to leap frog the current burst of hot weather and has programmed the elimination finals for Wednesday February 5th and grand finals for Friday February 7th.
