Coached by Jason Redemski the Riverland Boys team won Division One of the annual SAPSASA Hockey Carnival in Adelaide last week. In the ten team round robin competition Riverland won all of its nine matches and early reports suggest it conceded only four goals for the complete tournament, the majority of them in their first and closest match. The Riverland team comprised Josh Ridley, Riley Herbert, Riley Burgess, Caleb Schaeffer, Liam Phillips, Kyton Rayner, Lucas Hocking, Mitchell Rayner, George Fulwood, Stefan Kudra, Daniel Schmidt, Kydan Radloff, Liam Abraham and Riley Willis. Riverland finished on 27 points ahead of Yorke Peninsula 23 and East Adelaide 21.

The Girls team finished sixth in its ten team Division Two competition ending on 19 points behind the winner East Adelaide 25.

In Soccer the Riverland Boys team remained competitive throughout but failed to win a game after being elevated to Division One this year. The elevation came after Riverland finished runner up in Division Two in 2014 and in this year`s tournament the team found itself at the bottom of the age group against much bigger and stronger opponents. The team members can only benefit from the experience.

The Girls Soccer team did extremely well to end up third in the ten team Division Two competition as many of the players involved were relatively new to the sport and only emerged from selection trials. They too will benefit from the experience.
