“A fantastic way to end the season” was how Riverland Speedway President Greg Haynes described last Saturday night`s event at the Calperum Hill track.
“The weather was perfect, the track absolutely brilliant with a positive feedback from all classes, the fireworks presented by Ballistic Fireworks fantastic, the kids enjoyed the visit by Easter Bunny and the crowd was good”.
Action on the track was also high voltage with a number of records tumbling.
In the F500 feature NT22 Joe Orr set a new 10 lap time and in the 360 Sprintcars Dan Evans broke the 8 lap record and Jamie Hendry the 12.
In the Wingless Sprints feature a red hot Joel Chadwick set new 8 and 10 lap records.
Earlier in the night Chris Evans in 360 Sprintcars had set an 8 lap record and Lucy Evans in Wingless Sprints a new 10 lap time only for these to be eclipsed later in the program.
Looking at the results SA`s Joe Mercorella and Michael Haese followed Orr to the line in F500`s, Mildura`s Jaidyn Ruhs won the Junior Sedans from Corey Greening (NT) and Josh McEwin (SA) and in 360m Sprintcars Dan Evans, Chris Evans and Ben Hendry filled the placings.
Behind Chadwick in the Wingless Sprint feature were fellow South Australians Brett Ireland, Shaun McLure and Lucy Evans.
