The Riverland Girls and Boys teams have made a competitive start to this week’s annual SAPSASA Carnival at West Beach in Adelaide.

In game 1 for the Girls side East Adelaide defeated Riverland 16-7 with Riverland’s best players Lateeyah Campbell-Collard, Hannah Brauer and Deeana Campbell-Collard and on the same day Airport defeated Riverland (Shaylee Miller, Stephanie Schier, Ebony Pech) 17-6.

Riverland bounced into some form to defeat Torrens River Adelaide North East 21-9 in game 3 with Hannah Brauer, Deeana Campbell-Collard, and Reagan Sullivan playing well. Game 5 went to Port 16-9 against Riverland (Stephanie Schier, Aimee Duncan, Hannah Brauer) and Riverland won a thrilling game 6 8-7 over Barker. Deanna Campbell-Collard, Hannah Braurt and Ebony Pech stood out for Riverland.

The Boys lost narrowly to Barossa and Light 8-9 in game 1 but won game 2 11-6 against Onkaparinga North and South. In the first game Hayden Fridd, Jack Sullivan and Kobi Lowe were named best and in game 2 the standouts were Cody Letton, Seth Johns and Colby Lawton.

Strong pitching by Barker put Riverland under pressure in game three for a 3-13 loss but Hayden Johns , Kale Karpany and Cody Letton performed well. Game 4 was an exciting 8-8 draw against Northern York Peninsula with Hayden Johns, Brayden Bagguley and Jack Sullivan best.

Riverland, with a great team performance then  really put  the blow torch to Upper South East to the tune of 21-1.
