Peter Haynes won the A grade competition at the monthly Riverland Veterans Golf Day played at Loxton last Monday. Haynes finished on 38 points with Glen Johns just behind on 37, Derek Howes on 36 and Jim Merritt 35.
In B grade Steve Brown headed the results with 42 points, Klaus Wagnitz finished runner up on a countack on 40 points from Tony Hucks, Rob Schabrel and Ron Nagy had 36 and Whit Warren 35.
C grade went to Jim Shoumack 41 points from Don Kerley 40, Graham Walters 39, Brian Dale 37, James Martin 36 and Barry Rollbusch 35.
The next event is at Waikerie Golf Club on Monday May 18th.
Meanwhile over the past week at the Berri Club Mark Wilksch easily won a stableford on Wednesday with 45 points followed by Shane Renfrey 36, and all on 33, Brian Martin, G. Mack, Lenore Martin and Neville Wait. Mark Wilksch produced a birdie at the 16th. On Saturday another stableford went to Stephen Wade 38 points, Dallas Zeliff was second on a countack from Mick Jennings, Danyal Reynolds, Wayne Ashton on 37, Kelvin LeStrange had 36 and Anne-Marie Crease 34. Then on Sunday in a stroke competition Brian Martin with 79/69 won from Danyal Reynolds 89/71, Paul Mudge 83/73, Darin Rodden 81/73 and Spencer Baylis 94/73. Rob Day had a birdie on the first hole.
