There will be no local netball over this June long weekend as three junior teams head to Adelaide for the annual Country Championships.

In last weekend`s round of matches top teams Renmark and Loxton went on their winning way in the A1 competition while Loxton North had a solid win over Barmera.

Renmark, with Amy Martinson continuing her good form and Reeni Leuders prominent, defeated Berri (Katie Krollig, Ellee eleftheriadis) 69-41 and Loxton (Alysha Wehmuller, Hollie Bullock) defeated an injury hit Waikerie (Hannah Lehmann, Alicia Curtis) 67-42.

Jordan Jachmann and super consistent Ellie Thomas were named best for Loxton North as it won 44-38 against Barmera (Sue Whitbourne, Kari Johns).

In division three there were two keen games Renmark (A Richards, M Curnow) defeating Loxton (P Perre, E Sparrow) 50-46 and Berri (R Gates, L Hill), Loxton North (G Barry, K Plew) 50-46.

Riverland teams to go to Adelaide this weekend are—

17 and Under–Madison Pitman, Sophie Croft, Ashlea James, Tylah Cooper, Baillie Trenwith (Renmark), Marlee George, Jordan Jachmann, Hana Learhinan (Loxton North), Tegan Griffiths (Waikerie) and Bailey Miller (Barmera). Renmark`s Sonja Modlinski will coach the team with Denika Gartery the manager and Sharen Vasey the umpire. At least six of the team members are currently playing A1 grade locally.

15 and Under–Lori Haynes, Eva Nikou, Jess Pater, Shenae Rucioch (Renmark), Niesha Hampel (Loxton), Melody Pfeiler, Ella Schultz, Courtney Tschirpig (Loxton North), Annabel O`Dea (Barmera), Maddi Sarro (Berri). Eve Will is to coach the team, Sue Schultz is manager and Sue George umpire.

13 and Under–Hayley Stewart, Chelsea Foulds, Emily Westley (Berri), Connie Griffiths (Waikerie), Laura Martin, Demi Johnson, Abbey Siviour (Renmark), Amy Stephens, Kirriley Wagner (Loxton North) and Elle Will (Loxton). Ann Noack is the coach, Hannah Foody manager and umpire Karina Tschirpig.

The huge tournament will be held at the Netball SA Stadium and the competition is extremely tough. Amongst the large numer of teams in the junior competitions only the top two in each division advance to play offs.

Misty Pfeiler will be tested for her National adge during the event.
