Berri premiership player Naomi Weatherald has been praised by the coach of the Australian Country Women`s team, Brett Stokes, for her efforts on the current tour of Singapore and Malaysia.

Playing in Ipoh, Malaysia, Brett said “after a slow start against Ipoh we were 1-0 at half time when the heavens opened up again and it was only possible to hit the ball two metres along the turf with a full blooded shot it was that wet. To the girls credit though they ended up winning 7-0 with Naomi instrumental in revving the team up at half time and then leading by example to get the big win”.

“The Men also played well to manage a 5-0 win.”

After the night games against Ipoh the teams were due to leave for Kuala Lumpa and were looking forward to matches against the Malaysian National teams on Friday.
