A last quarter burst last Saturday by reigning premier Moorook Kingston put an end to Ramco’s chance of grabbing the double chance in Independent A Grade Football.

The Warriors trailed 4-8 to 7-7 at three quarter time but finished strongly to win by six points in a thrilling finish 9-8 (62) to 8-8 (56). Outstanding for Moorook Kingston were Kenny Wright, George Vlassopoulos with 6 goals, Ryan Pietrolaj and Jay Butterworth while for Ramco Cameron Hawke, Michael Draper and Blake Watkins gave their side every chance of victory.

Meanwhile Browns Well and Lyrup cemented their places in the Second Semi Final.

Browns Well 17-14 (116) defeated fourth placed Paringa 6-5 (41). The Bombers were best served by Michael Reichstein, Marcus Mawe, in form forward Jesse Smith with another 8 goals, Jock McNeil and Craig Hyde while Blair Dillon, Jason Griggs and Chris Gardner were up and about for the Swans.

Lyrup is looking ‘foreman’ material with another powerful display. The Lions 33-22 (220) beat Cobdogla 2-5 (17). Best for Lyrup were Adrian Abdulla, Lee Verrall, Tyson Stowers, Dean Hill with 11 goals and Ben Gropler. Ken Karpany scored 7 goals and Adrian Abdulla 6. The Eagles were best served y Zachary Walker, Jason Goodfellow and Matt Raison.
