Riverland finished in fifth place behind Lower Eyre Peninsula, Lower South East, Barker and Hills at the annual SAPSASA Country Swimming Carnival held at the Marion Aquatic Centre in Adelaide.

There were 19 zones in the competition.

Riverland competed in all 36 events and was represented in 19 finals, a fantastic effort.

The outstanding Riverland swimmers were Ella Kassebaum of Our Lady Of The River Primary School in Berri and Renmark West’s Jordan White.

Ella , in the 12 Year Girls age division, won a gold medal in the butterfly , silver in the 50 metre freestyle, and, with Jenna Lambert (Renmark North), Madelyn Long (Renmark West) and Tia Dahlitz (Loxton) bronze in the Medley Girls 4×50 metre Relay.

Jordan , in the 13 Year Boys division took gold in the butterfly, silver in the backstroke, bronze in the 100m Open freestyle and another bronze in the 4×50 m. Medley Boys Relay. His team mates were Konrad Duffin (Berri), Reuben Lehmann ( Waikerie) and Renzo Catalano (Loxton).

Renzo Catalano also won bronze medals in the 13 Year Boys freestyle and breaststroke events , Tianna Ivanovic (Renmark North) won bronze in the 13 Year Girls breaststroke and Madelyn Long in the 12 Year Girls backstroke.
