After the magnificent win by Mallee against Mid South East the previous week many of the stars from that game could have understandably been a bit below par last Saturday.
Not so, many of those involved at Kalangadoo just went on with the job as another absorbing round was played out in the battle for finals action.
Firsty Pinnaroo surprised by turning competitive but losing to competitive and winning brilliantly, 21-12 (138) to finals hopeful Peake 9-15 (69).
Tyrone Bennetts, Alex Keough, Wade Nickolls, with five goals and Brad Sheridan were superb for Pinnaroo while best for Peake were Trevor Rigney also with five majors, Kym Marwick and Jake Hewett.
Murrayville had a solid win over Karoonda with Clinton Gates, Ali Vessali, Sebastian Moroney (5 goals) and Kevin Wyatt prominent in the 12-6 (78) to 7-12 (result)
Murraywille was only one point in front at the half way mark.
Left to lament missed opportunities the Magpies were best served by Brodie Chinner, Jarred Graetz and Josh Rosenzweig.
BDT travelled to Lameroo and shot the Hawks down with a thud, 14-18 (102) to 3-10 (28).
Patrick Barrett, Lachy Richardson and Jarrad Brock flew highest for the Crows while for the home side Matt Ridgway, Shaun Walker and Ben Grieger did best.
THIS SATURDAY can we see the in form Murrayville, second with 12 points, take it up to the in better form BDT, undefeated on 16 points, at Murrayville?
At the same time Peake fifth on four points and in a red alert area, hosts Karoonda, third, on eight points and Lameroo, fourth with six points travels up the road to a a danger game against the up and about Pinnaroo.
