A week after it had beed displaced from top position on the Wednesday Bowls Pennant ladder by Berri Loxton returned to the number one position.

And it did it the hard way defeating Berri at Berri two rinks to one 67-59. The consistent Margaret Schutz led rink won for Loxton over Kerry Treloar 24-14, Raelene Reichstein lost to Jan Grosser 16-22 and Bernie Mattner defeated Marg Cooper 27-18.

In other games Lyrup ,fifth, defeated Renmark, third, 57-45 with Sue Lloyd beating Sandy Schulz 21-16, Ros Smith winning from Jocie Cooper 18-14 and Noreen Burns 18-15 from Betty Coombs.

Waikerie continued to work its way up the ladder with a narrow two rinks to one 58-55 victory against Barmera. Dawn Boehm won 22-16 from Sheila Lpckwood, Judy Strauss 21-14 against Carol Shugg and John Segneri lost to Gloria Burns 15-25.

The ladder at the Christmas break reads Loxon 193 points, Berri 177, Renmark 158, Waikerie 111, Lyrup 111, Renmark RSL 109 and Barmera 76.

Remaining in the season are Round 13 on January 14th, Waikerie against Renmark RSL, Berri playing Barmera and Loxton against Lyrup with Renmark having the bye, a Catchup Day on 17th January and on January 21st the last minor round matches. Waikerie has the bye, Renmark RSL plays Renmark, Lyrup meets Berri and Barmera hosts Loxton.

In Division Two the table is Loxton 177 points, Berri 171, Barmera 136, Waikerie 78 and Renmark RSL 62.

Division Three stands at Moorook 168, Renmark 163, Loxton 162, Loxton RSL Green 134, Loxton RSL Gold 127 and Berri 110.
