The 27th annual Loxton Bowling Club 5000 Invitational Classic was played with a capacity field and after day one of the eight day event was rained out officials managed to get the program for divisions A and completed.
After a week of Men’s and Ladies’ Pairs, Mixed Fours and Mixed Pairs A Section comprising Cowell’s Sue and Richard Jolly and Kimba’s Eileen Fitzgerald and Gary Wright won the final against B Section of Joan Hodgson and John Van der Wyst (Renmark RSL) and Julie Gartner and John Morena (Barmera).
Also Loxton junior Tamzin Jenke played for the State in Development Squad Test Matches against Victoria in Mildura with SA winning 3-1. Tamzin along with her elder sister Candice Raison have been again named in the SA Development squad. Also apparently Tamzin will join the Adelaide Bowling Club for the coming season.
Meanwhile younger brother Gerrin Jenke will represent the SA Under 18 Men’s team at the Nationals in the ACT this year which will give him the opportunity to defend the Australian Under 18 Triples title he won in 2014.
Further reports suggest that in 2015 the Jenke family and Matt Raison will leave Loxton and rejoin former club Barmera for the 2015/16 season.
