Loxton`s undefeated seven game start in division one of Wednesday Pennant bowls has gone to 7 wins 2 losses within a fortnight after it lost to Renmark RSL 56-53 at Loxton yesterday.

Like in Saturday Pennants the complete table has tightened up now suggesting a real battle for finals places.

In Renmark RSL`s victory Maria Spano`s rink defeated Bernie Mattner 18-14, Elaine Leedham lost to Margaret Schutz 20-25 and Cathy Topperwein defeated Raelene Reichstein 18-14.

Waikerie after defeating Loxton in the previous round, won again, this time against Lyrup 66-47. Dawn Boehm defeated Sue Lloyd 21-16, Judy Strauss lost to Ros Smith 16-21 and Nancy Teasdale`s rink continued in fine form to beat Noreen Burns 29-10.

Berri meanwhile surged into second position with a three rinks to nil, 68-42 win over third ranked Renmark. Kerry Treloar won 24-15 over Betty Coombs, Marg Cooper 23-10 over Sandy Schulz and Jan Grosser 21-17 against Jocie Cooper.

The ladder now has Loxton on 169 points, Berri on 151, Renmark 133, Renmark RSL 107, Waikerie 87, Barmera 74 and Lyrup 59.

In Second Division Loxton, top, defeated Renmark RSL, 5th, 69-45 and Barmera,2nd, accounted for Waikerie,4th, 69-45.

To Third DiVision top team Moorook went down to Loxton, 2nd, 20.25 to 42, fourth placed Renmark beat Loxton RSL Gold, 5th, by one shot 41-40 and Loxton RSL Green, 3rd, drew with Berri, 5th, 38-38.
