After the superb action on Saturday at the Riverland Basketball Senior Grand Finals at the Loxton Lutheran School Stadium the venue burst into life again on Sunday for Junior Grand Finals, Under 12 to Under 18.

Presentations followed.

In Boys matches Renmark won the Under 12 Division 1 premiership defeating Barmera by 3 points 26-23. For Renmark B White scored 14 points and J Rothe 6 while for Barmera A Hodgson 10 and C Marks 6 played well. Bailey White was named Best On Court completing a fine season as he also took our the 2016/17 Most Valuable Player Award. The MVP runner up was another Renmark player Toby Johnson.

In Division 2 Berri (B Pankhurst 14 points, M Cawse 7) defeated Barmera (J Bourton 4, R Scordo 2) 31-11. Mitchell Cawse (Berri) was Best On Court. The MVP for the season was Berri’s Nathan Kovacic and the runner up Lucas Warnett (Barmera)

In the Boys Under 14 Grand Final Berri took the title with a 28-22 win over Renmark. For Berri D Minchella 10 and O Kregar 5 were the best scorers and for Renmark A Curtis 12 and J White did best. Alex Curtis was BOC and also collected the MVP award. Jameson Whitbourne (Barmera) was the runner up.

Under 16 Division 1 was taken out by Loxton 44 to Berri 26. R Stasinowsky14 and J Obst 12 led the points scoring for Loxton and E Gregoric 12 and I Woolston 10 for Berri. Will Schultz (Loxton) received the Best On Court award and the MVP winner jointly were Berri’s Evan Gregoric and Loxton’s Riley Stasinowsky. Connor Blackwell (Renmark) finished runner up.

Barmera took out Division 2 in the Under 16′s. K Harkins 10 and C Dixon 9 for Barmera and D Houston 6 and T Ward 4 for Blazers led the scoring in a 30-10 final score. Kade Harkins was BOC and also won the MVP trophy with joint runners up Reece Lehmann (Blazers), Caiden Dixon (Barmera) and Ondre Hunyadi (Berri).

The Under 18 Grand Final went right down to the wire in an exciting contest. In the end Loxton’s edge in the depth of its team just paid off as it just kept its undefeated season intact when it defeated Barmera 47-45. Z Lueth 28 points starred for Loxton and D Size scored 7 while for Barmera Mitch Wellington, who was named Best On Court, contributed 22 and J Charlton 8. Zane Lueth won the season’s MVP award with Mitch Wellington the runner up.

In the Under 12 Girls Grand Final Zoe Siviour was Best On Court with 24 points when Renmark defeated Loxton 37-30. A Koumbarakos scored 6 for Renmark while for Loxton P Roberts dominated the points with 24 and B Hahn added 4. The season’s MVP was Sienna Lehmann of Waikerie and the Runner up Loxton’s Paige Roberts.

Renmark won the Under 14 title with an exciting 32-30 win over Barmera. A Lodge 12 points and K Nikou 8 topped the scoring fof Renmark and Best On Court Tahlia Dillon contributed 19 for Barmera and C Doupis 5. Tahlia Dillon was also the 2016/17  Most Valuable Player and Kassie Nikou (Renmark) the runner up.

Berri grabbed the Under 16 Division 1 premiership with a 36-28 victory over Loxton. For Berri L Gregoric amassed 13 points a C Burton 10 and for Loxton E Hughes supplied 9 and J Wooldridge 5. Berri dominated the presentations. Best On Court in the Grand Final was Tekira Hoffmann and the Most Valuable Player Lana Gregoric and runner up Charli Burton.

Loxton (B Stasinowsky 15, T Dahlitz 9) won the Under 16 Division 2 Grand Final 37-19 against Renmark (J Alexandropoulos 5, B Disalvio 4) . The BOC winner and MVP was named as Loxton’s Tia Dahlitz. Tia’s team mate Bianca Stasinowsky was MVP runner up.

Like the Under 18 Boys Grand Final the Girls game was also closely fought. In a low scoring affair Barmera (P Size 9, A Wutke 5) defeated Loxton (S Lange 8, E Schultz 5) 21-17. Judged Best On Court was Katri Stavrou (Barmera). The season’s Most Valuable Player was Abbey Siviour (Renmark) and the runner up Ashlee Wutke (Barmera).
