Four pars and a birdie in the first six holes set the foundation for a victory for John Henwood in last Saturday’s Stableford competition at the Loxton Golf Club.
Henwood described his round as only “solid” with good driving and the ability to get up and down consistently the features of his 36 point performance.
He was out in 20 despite a ‘scrub’ at the ninth and was never headed. At the par 3 fifth hole his 4 iron put the ball within 72cm of the hole for a simple putt and a birdie.
Gary Mudge took no risks of heading into the bush with his accurate driving keeping him on the fairway and he was rewarded with 35 points to be runner up.
