Peake scored a comfortable 12-16 (88) to 7-9 (51) victory against top side Lameroo in Mallee A Grade Football yesterday to hold on to second position and the double chance.

Defending champion BDT desperate to rise from third spot went on a percentage building exercise against Karoonda while Pinnaroo took a firm hold on fourth position with a big win against Murrayville.

The ladder now reads Lameroo 22 points (65.03%), Peake 20 (65.15), BDT 18 (63,22) and Pinnaroo 8 (41.88) followed by Karoonda 6 and Murrayville 4. With only two rounds remaining Karoonda meets Murrayville, Peake plays Pinnaroo and Lameroo is up against BDT in a crucial game next Saturday then Murrayville hosts Lameroo, Pinnaroo meets Karoonda and BDT plays Peake in another important clash. Percentage could play a major role in the final table.

Peake put in a very professional effort against the table top Hawks leading by 20, 17, 33 and finally 37 points at the various sirens. For Peake Sam Janetzki was best afield, power forward Sam Braidwood booted 5 goals and Patrick Gabb and Trevor Rigney (4 goals) were some of a host of contributors. Matt Ridgway, Vaughan No0nan and Haydon Thorpe did best for Lameroo.

BDT 25-22 (172) defeated Karoonda 2-2 (14). Patrick Barrett was best for the Crows and kicked 6 goals, Josh Richardson rated highly and scored 4, Bill Traeger, Dustin Head and Chad Kennett were also the best of many contributors. For Karoonda the reliable Zakk Bullard, Eli Koch, Chris Rudiger and Ben Quinn again gave it their all.

Pinnaroo burst back to form with an important 21-17 (143) to 5-4 (34) win over Murrayville. Wade Nickolls scored 5 goals for Pinnaroo with its best player list super consistent Alex Keough (4 goals), Clint Muster, Shannon Jenner and Micah Vanloon. Murrayville was best served by Chris Presser, R McCormick and S Mader.
