At Berri last Sunday Barmera No 2 defeated Loxton 3-2 and Renmark defeated Renmark No 2 4-3 in an interesting round of A grade men`s soccer.

In the other game Barmera United really showed it is going right after the premiership after fading out in the 2013 race for the prize as it defeated rival Berri River Rangers impressively 8-1. Marty Barber added another four goals to his tally for Barmera and along with Sam Atkins and John Pintilli was ranked amongst the best players. Lucas Eleftheriadis and Fred Vallelonga player well for Berri.

Barmera Two`s win against Loxton emphasised the depth in the Pelicans` camp with Kyle Lehmann and Leo Roggi the stand out players while for a competitive Loxton James Bucon and Tyson Renshaw did best.

Renmark`s two teams also put on a keenly fought affair with Yianni Sialis and Max Leturgie starring for the number one side and Jim Markeas and Bari Sahota for the second side.

In the Open Women`s competition top team Berri and Renmark fought out a one all draw with Berri`s best Ebony Hoffmann and Renee Hronopoulos and Renmark`s Athena Kounias and Cindy Quach.

Barmera also threw its name into the premiership ring in defeating Loxton 2-0. The best players for Barmera were listed as Hannah Gepsone and Tessa Webber and for Loxton Chelsea McPherson and Cody Hammerstein.

There was also a keen contest in the Under 16 competition between the two Renmark teams, team No 2 defeating team No 1 two goals to one. Bristow McKenzie and Aziz Safdari / Steve Kahlon and Michael Makros were the respective best players.
