For the Lake Bonney Yacht Club’s First Handicap Heats last Saturday fickle winds had the skippers and crews seeking the best approach to the set course. The Northern end of the course was the most effected by noticeable patches across the lake without wind but nevertheless all sailors completede their journey within the time limit.

Veteran John Eshman continued a purple patch of form with his trusty “Talisman” to win the Division One Miscellaneous Cats from Peter Dunk and Kirsten Thomas aboard “6th Element” and “Cat-titude” sailed by Steve Thomas.

In Division Two Misc Monohulls “Small Scream” (Tim Ridley) was first,  ”Mr Swag” (Josh Ridley and Lachlan Huser) second and “1st Tern” (Ellyn and Belinda Cale) third.

Next Saturday’s race will be the Second Handicap Heat.

A reminder of the “Come And Try Day” set down for Sunday 1st November from 11am to 2pm. Anyone interested in trying the sport are most welcome to attend.

The popular Sailing Classes are also due to commence on Saturday 21st November from 10am to noon.
