Reigning champion BDT may not have enjoyed a dominant 2015 as it has in recent seasons but despite doing it the hard way it showed with its 20-16 (126) to 14-10 (94) win over Peake in last Saturday’s Preliminary Final that it is ready to challenge for yet another premiership when it meets Lameroo and its new SANFL Hall of Famer coach Rodney Maynard in this Saturday’s Grand Final at Karoonda.

The Hawks against the Crows should be some kind of bird fight.

In the Preliminary Final at Peake the home side led by seven points at quarter time and were still in the game for some time but BDT had established a six goal buffer by the last change and was never seriously threatened. Big game specialist Josh Richardson booted 9 goals and Dustin Head 4 while best players named for defending champion were in form Lachie Richardson, Chad Kennett, Josh Richardson , Josh Keller, B  Kennett and B Hooper. For Peake Trevor Rigney, S Braidwood (5 goals), M Baker, S Heinrich (3 goals), Sam Janetzki finished the season strongly.

In Reserves in a cracker of a contest Pinnaroo defeated Lameroo in this fashion, 1-1 to 4-0 at quarter time, 4-7 to 5-0 at half time, 6-8 to 8-2 at the last change and finally 9-9 (63) to 10-2 (62). Best for Pinnaroo were J Kerber, J Ryan and T O’Driscoll and for Lameroo D Steer, D Philbey and B Zerk. BDT will play Pinnaroo in the Grand Final.

The Senior Colts Preliminary Final saw Pinnaroo 14-15 (99) beat Murrayville 7-2 (48). D Virgo scored 7 goals for Pinnaroo with other stars J Sharrad, B Virgo and W Venning and for Murrayville R Lewis, B Henderson and M Parker did best. Lameroo meets Pinnaroo in the Grand Final.

The Junior Colts Grand Final will be between BDT and Lameroo. Last Saturday Lameroo (F Nel, T Zerk,B Longstaffe) won 4-5 (29) to Peake (S Ballard, N Gogel, J Howard) 1-0 (6).
