In 2015/16 the Berri Baseball Club won its first ever B Grade Premiership.
It won its second title last Friday night which meant the club had a premiership double as the A Grade side went on its winning way to take out its third in a row.
The B Grade team won a spirited game against Renmark Blue 13-9 with an outstanding performance by Warriors’ catcher Tom Brook earning him the Best On Ground award.
The A Grade match between Berri and Renmark Angels was expected to be close but Berri was up 14-4 when the Mercy Rule was called into play to end the contest
For Berri Nick Morrow, with his efforts with the bat and at third base, was named Best On Ground. A luxury for Berri was that Morrow was not called to the pitching mound. ”He was not required” a Berri team mate said “because Jesse Stemberger’s performance pitching was one of the best seen for some time.”
The Association holds its Bament-Wesslink Best and Fairest Dinner tonight, Saturday.
