Loxton North junior Courtney Tschirpig has been selected in the South Australian team to compete in the State Secondary Schools Sports Association Under 15 Netball championships at Olympic Park in Sydney from 23rd until 28th August.
After trials were held for city juniors the past two Sundays in Adelaide involved candidates from the country. After the first week Courtney, Waikerie`s Connie Griffiths and Renmark`s Eva Nikou all did well to be included in an initial squad of 30 and last weekend Courtney made the final team for Sydney.
Courtney, a Premier Sports “Young Gun”, currently plays both 15A grade and senior A2`s for Loxton North. In the A2 grade she has as a team mate her mother Katrina, a star player in the Riverland over a long period.
Courtney, one of only two country girls in the final team. faces 12 training sessions in Adelaide prior to the championships.
