In contrast to the round of upsets and thrillers seven days earlier in Saturday Division One Pennant bowls the four matches yesterday were won by comfortable margins.
Further games are being held today in a weekend double header.
On Saturday Barmera had a surprisingly big win against Loxton Blue three rinks to one 92-70. Dennis Wutke`s rink lost for Barmera 18-22 to Brad Semmler, John Morena defeated Vic Pavia 23-14, Phil Ashton beat John Vaughan 30-11 and Ray Kuchel defeated Terry Thurston in a close game 21-20.
Berri also easily accounted for a new look Renmark four rinks to nil 81-61 with Mark Kubank winning 24-18 over Rick Stoeckel, Graham Butt 16-14 over Mick Rice, Dennis Treloar 19-18 from David Bollenhagen and Andrew Hill 22-11 over Bill Dopson.
Loxton RSL continued its strong form beating Renmark RSL three rinks to one 102-70. Lew Westbrook went down narrowly to Ken Knight 24-25, Jade Wright defeated John Van der Wyst 22-15, Steve Roberts – Ron Adam 28-18 and Graeme Huppatz – Mal Inglis 28-12.
Waikerie also hit some form with a 98-70 win over Loxton Yellow even though rinks were shared. Dixie Lee lost a cracking game against Peter Kimber 24-25, Barry Harden went down in another cliff hanger to Des Schliebs 16-17, Wayne Collins defeated Brian Bullock in a crucial result 35-11 and Gary Pursche defeated Neil Thiele 25-19.
In Second Division Renmark won against Barmera 67-44, Monash 61-52 against Loxton, Loxton RSL 57-50 over Moorook, Waikerie 61-59 from Berri and Lyrup 66-47 against Renmark RSL.
To Third Division Berri 68 defeated Loxton RSL 51, Waikerie 70 beat Renmark RSL 59, Monash won over Loxton 68-49, Renmark over Lyrup 57-55 and Moorook over Barmera 67-41.
In Division Four Barmera defeated Loxton 67-45, Monash – Waikerie 62-56 and Berri Blue – Berri Red 54-51.
