After a disappointing 40 strokes on the front nine in the Loxton Golf Club’s final Summer Monthly Medal last weekend Brenton Chapman produced a birdie on the par 5 tenth hole to get his round really rolling.

Four pars followed and he signed off with another birdie at the 18th to storm home in 37 and assume the clubhouse lead with 80 off the stick for nett 69.

He then kept his lead all day although Steve Patching made it interesting with 84/69 sending it to a back nine countback. Chapman, with 37 against Patching’s 42 gave him the win.

In the Women’s event Charmaine Petch with nett 73 won from Sabine Grein and Cate Cahill nett 76.

Peter Moller’s win in the B Grade with nett 71 completed a good week for him as he had easily won the Midweek Stableford with 44 points. He scored 3 points on nine holes and a regulation 2 points on all of the others.

Barry Rollbusch could have felt a little hard done by as his 42 points would have won him many events.

In the Women’s Stableford Marlene Tyler had 79 off the stick for 40 points ahead of Jill Fogden 36.

Marlene’s handicap is now 9, by far the lowest of the female members at the club.
