After dominating the old Riverland Women`s Bowling Association Wednesday Pennant competition for many seasons(11 Division One premierships in the past 14 years including the last three in a row), Berri went on its winning way when it won the first title under the new Bowls Riverland banner introduced in 2014/15 to comply with mixed gender requirements.

After an even first half in the grand final against Renmark RSL the Berri side drew away to win 70-52.

It was a brave effort by Renmark RSL in reaching its first ever grand final at this level after playing in the knock out first semi final and defeating Renmark and minor premier Loxton in turn.

In Berri`s grand final triumph Kerry Treloar’s rink defeated Elaine Leedham 30-16, Marg Cooper won 29-12 over Maria Spano and Jan Grosser lost to Cathy Topperwein 11-24.

Other members of the Berri team were Jenny Lyons, Kath Mader, Yvonne Hollis, Jane Price, Ros Cmrlec, Ev Saint, Emma Treloar, Wendy Wittke, and Ruth Butt.

In Division Two Berri comleted a title double defeating minor premier Barmera 51-36. J Bradford won 26-9 from S Burnett, L Blades drew with K Brown 15 all and S Facci defeated J Videron 13-12.

Minor premier Moorook also went down in Division Three 31-45 against Loxton. For the winner M Campbell`s rink defeated C Voigt 20-13 and J Badcock lost to L Tschirpig 16-18.w
