Some sensational hitting by Mildura import Dion Tregeagle got Renmark A off to a flying start and a 2-0 early lead against Berri A last Tuesday night but thereafter it was tight from both sides and there was no further score in the game.
Tregeagle pitching stymied the Berri batters while Steve Goldspink aided by improved fielding from his side did likewise for Berri.
The win gave Renmark top spot and an early ticket into the grand final.
In other matches a good start by Barmera B gave it a stranglehold on its clash with Lyrup and it ran out the winner 7-1 while Berri B defeated Renmark B 16-6.
The Renmark A versus Barmera A game was then a really fiery  affair with Renmark giving the Lakers the first look at Tregeagle`s pitching.
In a no holds barred contest Renmark won 4-3 with the last play of the game after it appeared a 3-3 result was likely.
With Renmark the minor premier Barmera and Berri will now meet two weeks in a row to end the minor round then battle for a grand final berth.
