Sunday’s A Grade Men’s Soccer match between Barmers United and Renmark Olympic at Renmark was playedat a ferocious pace with Barmera winning 3-1 but Olympic showing it is ready to challenge in the season ahead.
Barmera coach Kevin Barber snr was pleased with his team’s performance in which Anthony Ielasi scored two goals and Martin Barber 1.
Billy Milonas playing his first A Grade game in seven years effected some excellent saves while the best players were listed at Andrew Sarakinis in one of his very best efforts and Russell Brooker. Skipper Josh Tsorotiotis and Riley Wallace also played well.
Nick Sotiroulis the Renmark coach, down three players on the previous Sunday, expressed some disappointment that Olympic had moved away from its game plan. Hari Sahota scored the goal and better players included Under 16 player Simon Crouch and Charles Van Rogan.

Berri River Rangers defeated Loxton United 6-1 but the contest was much more competitive than the result indicates.
Chris Miller was Rangers’ best with a hattrick, 14 year old Jasper Hoffmann goaled twice and Dylan Eleftheriadis scored the other. Russell Frankel again played well.
Loxton’s effort was a vast improvement on its season opener and it fought the game right out to the end. Six team members were Under 17 years of age. Matthew Wheeler and Geordie Franks were the best players.

The Women’s Opem competition saw Renmark defeat Barmera 2-1.
Gun forwards Elif Sen and Angela Pavlomanolakos for Renmark and JiJi Mitchell for Barmera got onto the scoreboard but overall the defences of both teams worked tirelessly throughout to limit their opportunities.
Meryen Altundag and Cindy Quach (Renmark) and Kelly Watson and Louise Monaco (Barmera) were the best players.

Berri won 7-0 overLoxton but again it was a competitive game.
Demi Plew and Melissa Grear were best for Berri and Nicole Tate and Jessica Grace for Loxton.
