Ash Pfeiler and Andrew Golding have teamed up to dominate a Multiplication Stableford at the Loxton Golf Club. In the event players in pairs multiplied their individual scores for each hole giving the possibility of a high score if both played well on a hole or a potential zero if one or both failed to score points.

Pfeiler ended up with a superb 41 points—off a handicap of 10—with six straight pars in just 38 off the stick on the front nine. From there he did not falter on the second nine with 39 off the stick and a round of 77.  Golding had not played a lot of golf in recent times due to work committments but still ended up with an outstanding 40 points. His pars at the difficult 8th and 9th holes netted him 8 points. Failing to score at all on two holes made the pair’s effort even more exceptional and in the end they ‘streeted’ the opposition ending up 19 points ahead of Gordon Parry and Tim Vivian. Amongst the Women competitors  a fine individual feature was Cathy Arnd’s score of 41 points but the team failed to capatilise.

In Midweek competition Garry Mudge continued his good form with 38 points just edging out Garry Parker by one.

Marlene Tyler won the Women’s Monthly Medal for the A Grade and Jenny Ling won the B Grade.
