It was the same opponents but a vastly different outcome when Loxton recoiled from its upset defeat by Berri in the Riverland One Day Grand Final to go on a batting rampage when the Two Day series commenced last Saturday.
Berri picked up early wickets but were then destroyed by Jake Albrecht 168 not out and Michael Gutsche undefeated on 133 in a score of 4 for 367.
In the other game Renmark could only muster 146 but had Waikerie-Ramco in early trouble at the end of the first day at 2 for 3.
In B Grade Waikerie Ramco 9 for 154 (J Redemski 43, L Singh 35, W Scadden 3 for 21) just finished in front of Monash (W Scadden 39) 8 for 142, Browns Well 5 for 221 (M Hampel 36, B Hampel 49, L Patterson 73) defeated Berri 199 (G Franks 114, L Patterson 3 for 20) and Gerard 7 for 188 (T Abdulla 45, D Abdulla 33, L Pontt 5 for 30) won another close game against Wunkar 181 (A Searles 42, A Pontt 41, A Abdulla Snr 3 for 34 , T Abdulla 3 for 20).
Loxton North 4 for 142 (B Walter 53, J Hentschke 33) won against Waikerie Gold 136 (M McGrath 37, T Arnold 3 for 14) and 62 to T George for Loxton gave it victory over Barmera Hotel (P Roberts 4 for 28).
In Pinnaroo and Border matches on Saturday a highlight was Drew Crane`s181 for Murrayville as its 4 for 303 was too much for Perponda with 37 and 77.
Another D Crane however probably took ‘Man Of The Match’ honours with 61 and 6 for 16 and 5 for 48 although Drew also captured a 4 for 10.
For Perponda Chris Rudiger scored 50 in the second innings.
In other matches Parilla 5 for 200 (D Kerber 75, N Dabinett 49) defeated Pinnaroo 110 (R Tiller 31) and Parrakie (G Stephenson 31 R Pahl 3 for 27) beat Lameroo 132 (R Pahl 31, D Simon 3 for 21).
