After raising $12,500 in total in the previous four years of its annual Charity Bowls Day the Vietnam Veterans Group had its most successful result yet with $4,000 coming from its 2016 event at the new Berri Bowling complex.

The money raised this year is to benefit the local Cadet Units and Riding For The Disabled.

With a full field for the bowls an enjoyable day was held by all with a lot of fun in the various money making activities.

Word has it that Riverand Bowls identity “Dixie” Lee was generous in his support of the fund raising but people were concerned that he may not have enough room in his Jeep to transport his raffle prizes back to Waikerie.

Well done to Max Binding and his assistants in showing how to organise and run a function such as this.
